The Origin of Our Name
Why "Jirisan" (지리산)?
In South Korea, Mount Jirisan is the second tallest and most revered mountain on the Korean mainland. For centuries, it has stood as the sanctuary of pure spring water, ancient forests, and legendary heritage fermentation.
The name Jiri-san translates to "The Mountain of the Exquisite and Wise". In Korean culture, it symbolizes time-honored patience, nature in its most untouched state, and the timeless art of letting food mature at its own honest rhythm.
When we founded jirisanmall.in, we made a solemn promise: every jar carrying the Jirisan name must reflect that same purity, mountain stillness, and unwavering integrity.

Our Roots in Delhi NCR
Made by Koreans, Loved in Gurgaon
When we moved to Gurgaon, Haryana, we missed the honest taste of home—the unpasteurized, effervescent, crisp crunch of kimchi that Korean grandmothers pack with love during the autumn Kimjang season.
Supermarket shelves in India were stocked with pasteurized, dead, vinegar-heavy sauces masquerading as "kimchi". We refused to settle.
In early 2024, we began hand-crafting small batches inside our Gurgaon home kitchen using traditional techniques and authentic Korean chili flakes (Gochugaru). Word spread like wildfire across neighbors, expats, and local food lovers—and Gurgaon Kimchi was officially born.
